Lacoste says goodbye to its Global footwear President
Wednesday, 20 November 2013
Andy Simister, Global President of preppy brand
Lacoste footwear division, announced his departure from the company.
However, he has agreed to stay on in his role as non-executive director
at Hunter, in which Pentland, owner of Lacoste, is an investor.
Simister joined the team in 1996 and after over 17 years working at the
helm of the footwear sector, has decided to take leave to look into
other commercial chances. Paul Webber, who is chief financial officer at
Lacoste and Richard Newcombe, who is vice president of global sales
will take over Simister's former role until his successor is taken on.
He told Drapers that he was “looking forward to the final third of my
career and new challenges ahead.” Simister´s departure from the company
was on good terms and Pentland's chief executive, Andy Rubin, added that
he had made a huge contribution to the company and that they hoped he
found “great success in his future ventures.”
