Business people: Derby Cycle Names New Managing Director

Derby Cycle, which entered the North American market in 2012 with its acquisitions of UK-based Raleigh and Toronto-based Cervélo, has named a new managing director to help guide  international growth.

Germany’s top selling bicycle manufacturer named Olaf Heinen as its new managing director. Heinen will take over responsibility for the finance, IT, controlling and human resources departments.
 
Born in Oldenburg, he was previously employed at an automobile supplier and in the sanitary industry.
Olaf Heinen is a graduate in business administration and has held a range of managerial roles over more than 20 years.
 
For example, he was CFO of the internationally active Hüppe Group, where he held complete commercial responsibility and managed the controlling, finance, IT and general administration departments. Most recently, Heinen was the finance & administration director at the Linden Group automobile supplier.
 
"As part of our continuous growth, it was simply necessary for us to broaden our management structure and place it in the hands of experienced specialists.
