2014, 8:13 PM ET) -- The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday refused to hear
an appeal from
Deckers Outdoor Corp. over whether Ugg boots imported by
the company should have been subject to lower duties, declining the
retailer’s request to consider whether the Federal Circuit erred in
deferring to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s footwear
definitions.
The high court included the case in its list of
certiorari denials, thereby axing Deckers’ challenge to the Federal
Circuit’s May 2013 ruling that Customs had correctly classified the
company’s Ugg Classic Crochet boots...
