Katin for Club Monaco collaboration continues for summer '14

June 4, 2014 - (Orange County, Calif.,) -- For its latest installment of the Makers and Muses series, Club Monaco will continue its successful, sell-out partnership with legendary surf-wear company Katin, creating a limited edition swim collection.

The collection was all made in the USA and features swim separates including swim trunks ($89.50) and garment dyed tees ($45.00). Both Club Monaco and Katin are dedicated to producing quality and durable products at an affordable price. Last year the Katin for Club Monaco collection sold out in one week.

The collection is available online at www.clubmonaco.com.

The Makers and Muses series is a continual project that highlights Club Monaco’s unique and creative partnerships. The special series illustrates and celebrates quality-made products, as well as the innovative minds behind the dedicated brands.

Katin: In the early 1950's Nancy and Walter Katin were in the business of making canvas boat covers. It was upon request from local surfers that they made the first pair of custom canvas surf trunks. Word spread of their ability to withstand the demands of the sea and an industry was born.

In 1976, Nancy initiated the annual Katin Pro/Am Team Challenge at the north side of Huntington Beach's pier, a team event where amateur surfers can compete alongside the pros. Surf legends such as Kelly Slater and Tom Curren have won the Katin Pro/Am. Nancy passed away in 1986, leaving the company to Sato Hughes, her loyal seamstress.

It is with the same mindset as the founders that Katin continues to provide trunks and clothing inspired by our heritage with an emphasis on quality products that are made in the USA.www.katinusa.com.
