Seattle, WA (August 28, 2014) – ExOfficio,
a leading manufacturer of adventure travel apparel, is pleased to
announce Brian Thompson as its new general manager. Thompson took over
the position June 16, and will continue to leverage the brand’s position
as a global leader in adventure travel apparel.
“We're excited
to welcome Brian to the Jarden Technical Apparel family,” said Mark
Martin, President of Jarden Technical Apparel. “Brian brings a deep
understanding of specialty retail and the adventure travel market. His
ability to balance the ‘art and science’ of brand-building will help
drive sales and continue to build ExOfficio's global brand awareness."
In
his new position, Thompson will be responsible for building and
defining the brand model and developing a comprehensive plan for
sustained, profitable global growth and driving all facets of the
business to operate to that plan.
“Joining one of the most
iconic brands in the business is a huge honor for me,” said Thompson.
“ExOfficio’s authentic heritage and leadership in adventure travel
apparel perfectly positions us to evolve the relationship between
adventure apparel and the traveler’s desired experience. I’m excited
about the new technologies that we have in store. They will raise the
bar on technical performance while also appealing to the style
aesthetics of today’s adventure traveler.”
Thompson brings over
fifteen years of industry experience with him to his new position as
general manager. For the past four years Thompson served as the Director
of Sales and Marketing at Toad & Co. (formerly Horny Toad). Prior
to that, Thompson spent thirteen years at Cutter & Buck in various
top-level positions, including Vice President of Golf, Corporate,
International and Domestic Licensing Divisions. As a Seattle-area
native, the move to ExOfficio brings Thompson back to his hometown.
Thompson
will be working out of the ExOfficio global headquarters located in the
SoDo district of Seattle, Washington, and will be directly reporting to
the President of Jarden Outdoor Division.
About ExOfficio
ExOfficio
celebrates the traveler by crafting garments that allow them to
experience the world unhindered. ExOfficio was born in 1987 when our
founders discovered the need for technical apparel that performs as
gear. They engineered a shirt with the functions of a fly-fishing vest,
the ventilation of a cool breeze and the construction of a men’s dress
shirt. We put the same thought into every detail for garments that will
enhance any adventure. ExOfficio is devoted to enhancing worldly
exploration through clothing that packs well, performs and is durable
enough for a lifetime. ExOfficio is sold internationally in specialty
outdoor, fly-fishing, travel and luggage stores. Products are available
in ExOfficio retail stores and online.
