New products : Fishpond Introduces a Range of New Products for 2014

July 10, 2013 (Denver, Colo.) – Fishpond, inc., creators of high quality fly-fishing and outdoor travel gear and accessories, reveals its new product line-up at the International Fly Tackle Dealer (IFTD) show in Las Vegas July 10-12 at booth #5267.

The Westwater Collection saw great success in 2013; so four new pieces join the collection. All of the products in this collection feature TPU welded fabric construction and YKK #10 water resistant zippers with oversize pulls (where applicable). The Westwater Roll Top Boat Bag has all of the features of the current boat bag but with a roll top design for anglers who need assurance their gear will stay dry no matter the conditions. The Roll Top Boat Bag will retail for $189.95. The Westwater Lumbar Pack is ideal for anglers who carry a bit less gear, but it still holds plenty of essential tools, fly boxes and accessories. It also has an integrated net slot and features a mesh lumbar support for increased ventilation and comfort. The Lumbar Pack will retail for $99.95. The Westwater Zippered Duffel is a slightly smaller version of the Westwater Large Zippered Duffel. Coming in at just over 5,000 cu. in., this zippered duffel is perfect for shorter trips when gear needs protection. The Westwater Zippered Duffel will retail for  $169.95.  Rounding out the new Westwater collection is the all-new Westwater Messenger Bag. The streamline design features a large zippered flap pocket, a back zippered pocket for additional organization, a secure interior organization pocket, an interior laptop sleeve, and an adjustable, padded shoulder strap. Retailing for $139.95, this new addition to the collection is sure to be a favorite.

Fishpond takes environmental responsibility seriously, so 2014 brings 14 new or improved fishing packs and vests featuring a lightweight, recycled fabric made from old commercial fishing nets. New YKK Aquaguard #8 zippers on the exterior are water resistant, so combined with the water resistant recycled fabric, anglers’ gear will stay dry.

The new products in this collection lead off with the Black Canyon Backpack. With an adjustable external frame, offset air mesh back and padded, contoured shoulder straps, this backpack helps carry loads and keeps anglers cool while hiking into remote fishing destinations. The modular design allow docking compatibility with many of the fishpond’s chest/lumbar packs, and two zip out rod tube holders comfortably carry fly rods. The large main backpack compartment carries plenty of gear while three smaller pockets offer quick access to necessities. The Black Canyon Backpack will retail for $179.95.

At just under 400 cu. in. smaller, the Bitch Creek Backpack has all of the same features as the Black Canyon Backpack minus the external frame. Instead, this pack has a structured air mesh back panel to comfortably carry loads. It also has two smaller pockets to carry extra items. The Bitch Creek Backpack will retail for $149.95.

Also featuring the new recycled fabric are four new chest or lumbar packs. Leading off is the Yampa Guide Pack. With two main zippered compartments and signature molded, drop down fly bench and interior pockets, this pack is sure to carry everything for a long day on the water. Two exterior pockets hold water bottles and the structured air mesh back panel keeps anglers cools and comfortable. The Yampa Guide Pack can be worn as a lumbar or a sling pack and will retail for $119.95.

The Encampment Lumbar Pack is next in the line-up and offers a simplistic design with a zippered main compartment for secure fly box storage, an additional front zippered compartment for easy access and cord loops for tools and accessory attachment. Compression straps help distribute the load or expand to hold a rain jacket and two water bottle pockets adorn the exterior. This pack offers anglers three ways to wear it; as a lumbar pack, as a sling pack or as a chest pack. This pack will retail for $89.95.

The Savage Creek Chest Pack and the Medicine Bow Chest Pack round out the recycled fabric product collection. The Savage Creek Chest Pack is a thoughtfully designed chest pack that contours the body for maximum comfort. One main storage compartment fits large fly boxes and the exterior slash pocket holds items needed quickly such as hemostats. The Medicine Bow Chest Pack is a bit smaller but has all of the same features including a zip down fly bench. This pack can either be worn as a chest pack or attach to a wader belt. Both packs offer the modular design to fit with a multitude of fishpond’s backpacks. The Savage Creek will retail for $89.95 and the Medicine Bow will retail for $69.95.

The following products have been updated with new colors and this recycled fabric: Wasatch Tech Pack, Marabou Vest, Sagebrush Mesh Vest, Gore Range Tech Pack, Dragonfly Guide Lumbar Pack, Cirrus Guide LTE Hydration Lumbar Pack, and the Waterdance Guide Pack.

Colliding traditional fabric with the future of design, the Vaquero Waxed Canvas Vest features large horizontal main pockets to accommodate multiple large fly boxes and four additional zippered pockets hold smaller boxes and accessories. Four front flap pockets are great for tippet and leaders and a quick access hemostat dock and dual snap attachment straps for plier sheath or other necessities round out the offerings. The Vaquero Vest will retail for $159.95.

The Hook Jaw River Tool combines a bottle opener, line cutter and tippet gage in one convenient tool. It is made from aerospace aluminum and titanium and has a retractor/lanyard attachment hole and is laser engraved. This will retail for $19.95.
