Nike introduced its new Holiday 2014 collection in Prague this week by transforming an old-school gym into an inspirational space for women during the annual Designblok exhibition, the city’s preeminent fashion, furniture and industrial design showcase. In collaboration with local students from Prague’s atelier of design, sport and art were fused together to celebrate Nike’s new Women’s collection across Running, Women’s Training and Nike Sportswear.

The weeklong installation, created to showcase the best of Nike performance and design for women, will live as an interactive experience and offer visitors the opportunity to learn, play and engage through special activities and events. The Nike Air Zoom Structure 18 and Nike Zoom Fit Agility featuring Zoom technology join a showcase of Nike’s latest Running, Training and Sportswear apparel and footwear for winter. The collection of beautiful silhouettes, such as the Nike Aeroloft Hybrid Jacket, were designed to cover women’s performance and lifestyle needs, ensuring protection in harsh, unpredictable winter conditions while keeping her in style.

Special guests Zuzana Bičíková, athlete and N+TC instructor, and Inna Puhajková, TV personality, attended the media launch where the installation was unveiled through a contemporary acrobatic performance by local ensemble Cirk La Putyka.
“Nike’s Holiday 2014 Women’s collection combines cutting-edge innovation with Nike’s philosophy of how we beautifully design for her," said Martina Vránková, Brand Director of Nike Central Europe. “The collection marks the nexus of how sport and design can come together in a compelling way.”

HOLIDAY 2014 WOMEN’S RUNNING

This winter season, the Nike Air Zoom Structure 18 raises the bar for a running shoe that delivers both speed and stability, while keeping runners dry, warm and visible. Nike’s Zoom Air technology is the fastest, most responsive Nike Air cushioning, making it the cushioning of choice for many elite and everyday athletes. Highly responsive Nike Zoom Air cushioning in the forefoot combined with the added toe spring of the new Zoom, provides the Structure 18 with a responsive snap and fast transition.

The new Nike Aeroloft Hybrid Jacket takes the spotlight in the apparel collection. Designed to help runners battle the elements and stay protected, the jacket features engineered laser-cut holes between chambers of body-mapped-800-fill down insulation to help runners stay warm in cooler conditions without overheating. As a special addition to the week, Nike will host an evening run through the heart of Prague for runners to try the season’s collection and kick off their winter running program. Starting off at the Nike Studio at Designblok, the route will bring female runners out to the street where they will receive a truly special experience, centered around the technologies of Zoom and Nike’s winterized apparel innovations.

HOLIDAY 2014 WOMEN’S TRAINING

The Nike Zoom Fit Agility is a new innovation within the Holiday 2014 collection. It features highly responsive Nike Zoom Air, which helps put an extra spring in the female athlete’s step. Each independent air bag in the shoe is placed in hexagonal rubber pods and strategically positioned where the female athlete needs cushioning most, which ultimately allows the shoe to flex in multiple directions. As part of the Designblok program, women will have the opportunity to experience the power of Zoom through special Nike Zoom Fit Agility trials and take part in special Nike Training Club class with master trainer Radka Vandasova.

HOLIDAY 2014 WOMEN’S NIKE SPORTSWEAR

The winter lifestyle element comes to life through an installation of the Women’s Air Max 1 SneakerBoot. This boot adopts H2O Repel technology to offer warmth, visibility and dryness for unprecedented defense. Converging classic styles with cutting-edge technology, the SneakerBoot collection provides rugged resistance to the elements.

The Nike Studio at Designblok 2014 was designed and created in partnership with students from the University of Art, led by Czech Designer Michal Fronek. As part of a dynamic collaboration with Nike, the students studied the new collection and brought it to life through their own fresh, artistic style.
