KTM expands the family of the Duke with single-cylinder 690 Duke,
supporting the new 690 Duke R. Bike that can rely on advanced chassis in
a sporting sense with greater ground clearance and suspension with
stiffer springs and better hydraulic control than the 690 Duke.
The
new fully adjustable upside-down fork has the hydraulic regulation
separate from the stems, as happens in the best racing achievements. The
right leg is assigned the task of managing the return, the log in the
left leg instead acts on the compression. The new WP monoshock with
remote reservoir offers an impressive number of settings, including high
and low speed compression damping. Even Brembo brakes set a new
standard in the braking systems of motorcycles in this category. A new
radial caliper M50 is 6% lighter and, above all, more rigid. In
combination with the radial pump ensures a perfect modulation and
stopping power at the top. The innovative Bosch 9M + ABS has a new
riding mode called "Supermoto", which is activated via dongle. In this
riding mode the rider can lock the rear wheel despite the ABS remains
active on the front wheel.
New Duke 390 :
Reduced to the max! The new KTM 390 Duke has everything that has always made great bikes great: sufficient power, ample torque, and low costs at an extremely low weight. It handles extremely well and comes into its own wherever nimble agility is called for. In short: no other bike offers more riding fun for your money than the 390 Duke! At a full 44 hp from 375 cc of displacement, it’s head and shoulders above its 200 cc sister model, while the chassis has of course been enhanced to cope with the extra oomph. Still, the new 390 Duke weighs in at less than 150 kilograms fully fuelled – not only raising its dynamics above many a higher-capacity bike but also making it a sporty alternative to pricey maxi scooters
KTM 1290 Super Duke R
KTM presents at EICMA 2012 the prototype of the future 1290 Super Duke R, a new naked bike that will not certainly needs no introduction and shows once more the philosophy of KTM motorcycle through the unmistakable voice of his twin. The designers with the new 1290 felt free to create and shape a bike free from all limits and code compliance of any road, listening to the dreams of engineers, design and testers Mattighofen. The engines comes from the Superbike RC8 R with the bore increased, the classic lightweight steel trellis frame is coupled to a single-sided swingarm , new prototypes of the WP suspension and racing components from wheels, discs and tires.
