Sportscheck, the leading integrated sports retail chain in Germany,
achieved a gross turnover of about €394 million for the fiscal year
until the end of February, down by just 3.4 percent compared with its
record sales the previous year.
The company said that it still managed
to lift its operating profit. After heavy investments in store openings
and refurbishments last year, Sportscheck will continue to invest this
year: It will open the first of its smaller stores on 1,200 square
meters in Reutlingen in June and its new flagship store of 10,000 square
meters in the center of Munich should be opened in October.
