Laguna Beach, CA (2 June 2014)—Local Laguna apparel brand The Soul
Project is on the move with the grand opening of its flagship retail
location at 1516 South Coast Highway, between Bluebird and Calliope,
right across the street from the Surf & Sand hotel.
To mark the occasion, Soul Project founder Summer Meek and her team are planning a daylong celebration on Saturday June 21st..
“The stars have totally aligned,” said Meek. “When we saw that the day
we wanted to do our grand opening was the actual summer solstice, we
knew our timing was perfect.”
The 900 square foot cottage and beautiful garden will feature the full
Soul Project line of women’s, men’s and kid’s apparel and accessories, a
distinctive assortment of Laguna lifestyle products, and the second
location of Print, the company’s apparel and accessory printing service.
“This move is the logical next step in the evolution of our brand” Meek
said. “We are truly excited about having our own unique space to tell
our story, welcome our customers and spread our wings, and we hope the
entire community, locals and visitors alike, will stop by, say hello and
experience The Soul Project first hand.”

About The Soul Project
We are a team of visionary entrepreneurs, designers and artists that
has come together to launch a simple and innovative apparel company that
holds “socially conscious capitalism” as a core cultural value.
“There are unique places in the world that seem to captivate people and
resonate in a way that other places don’t” said Summer Meek, founder of
The SOUL Project. “These are our Soul Places, and one of the most
ironic things is that even the most beautiful places in the world face
significant challenges every single day. Our idea in launching The SOUL
Project is to protect the future of each of these places by supporting
groups that work on the future–kids and the environment– in a grass
roots way.”
“With organizations like Patagonia and Tom’s Shoes as inspirations, The
SOUL Project looks to follow the path of non-traditional commerce where
the activities and success of the company are driven by the desire to
make a positive contribution in the world” said Don Meek, co-founder of
The SOUL Project. “We think of The SOUL Project as an organizing
framework that connects the dots in the most direct way possible.
In addition to local graphic “printables” such as Laguna Soul,
Encinitas Soul and Newport Soul in each location, we’ve developed the
“Local Artist Series” to even more closely align with each special
place.
“Who better than a local artist to truly interpret the unique nature of
each Soul Place?” asked Summer. “These talented people have these
places in their bones and it’s remarkable to see the result of their
love affair with their own Soul Place.’
We launch each Soul Place with a local artist and offer a limited
edition product series that l includes one-of-a-kind apparel items,
high-quality prints and other unique pieces that feature the artist’s
work.
