Each, one-of-a-kind bag is created from decommissioned paraglider wings, donated by the Cloudbase Foundation, a non-profit made up of paraglider and hangglider pilots from around the world who are committed to giving back to the communities where they fly, including Honduras, Haiti, Nepal and more.
Each set of wings donated by the Cloudbase Foundation and the paragliding community provides enough material to create 30 to 40 bags. Inspired by origami design, the Harvest IV Collection is highly-water resistant, while reducing scraps. The new collection includes two new styles: a sling and daypack.
The Harvest IV Sling (MSRP $50) is a lightweight, cross-body sling with highly abrasion-resistant lining. Weighing only 0.7 pounds, the 7-liter bag is large enough for a tablet, phone, sweater and keys, and also features an internal divider.
The Harvest IV Daypack (MSRP $85) holds 23 liters and features an internal document sleeve that holds up to a 15-inch laptop and two external pockets for quick access to smaller items.
“The Cloudbase Foundation is thrilled to partner with KEEN on this unique initiative that truly helps to create opportunities on numerous levels in communities worldwide, funding education, water, urban gardening, and nutrition programs in Nepal, Haiti, and Honduras,” said Nick Greece, president of the Cloundbase Foundation.
