Business news : Smartwool on new European headquarters with new marketing boss

Smartwool has recently moved its headquarters from England to Switzerland. Now there welcomed the wholly-owned subsidiary of Timberland a new marketing manager for Europe.

Smartwool The European headquarters is now near Lugano in Switzerland, where also the American parent company, VF Corporation has its headquarters for Europe. Jennifer Howland says there from now on the new European marketing manager. She changes position both within Smartwool (previously Global Creative Director) and place of residence (from the U.S. to Switzerland).

Howland wants to continue to use all communication channels and support the best retailers in Europe with shop-in-shops, POS materials, or public relations. Howland said: "branded retail presentation is a hobby of mine. To make a mark even at their critical point of contact for customers at POS and to give it a face, is a great challenge.

SmartWool is an American company founded by New England ski instructors Peter and Patty Duke in Steamboat Springs, Colorado in 1994 and acquired by the Timberland Company in 2005. The company makes eponymous products primarily from treated merino wool.SmartWool claims that this proprietary treatment makes its products itch-free and resistant to shrinking.
