The historical event spans more than eight blocks of Virginia Beach coastline and includes a host of events and activities including the Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) 4-Star Vans Pro and 2-Star Vans Pro Junior, the Vans Off the Wall BMX Invitational, skate and BMX demos, an exciting musical performance by the Plain White T’s, a fun-filled Coastal Edge Vendor Village and many more exciting events and activities. Vans will also proudly host the East Coast premiere of Get-N Classic, Vol. 3 on August 21 at Coastal Edge with autograph signings from Vans team riders including Joel Tudor, the Gudauskas brothers and Brogie Panesi.
The ASP 4-Star Vans Pro is the highest rated event on the East Coast and will host the largest field of competitors for a WQS event in the USA. Vans team rider Joel Tudor will make a special appearance in the contest along with all three Gudauskas brothers including last year’s event winner Patrick Gudauskas, Dane Gudauskas who hopes to join his brother on the list of Vans Pro winners and Tanner Gudauskas who is looking to build points following a strong third place finish at the Los Cabos Open of Surf 6-Star in June. For the Junior Men, the ASP 2-Star Vans Pro Junior will provide a chance for big points and qualification into the 2014 ASP World Junior Championships. The Vans Pro and Vans Pro Junior are being webcast live all week long at www.vans.com/ecsc.
The Vans Off the Wall BMX Invitational will take place August 22-23, 2014 with top BMX riders competing for $25,000 in cash prizes. The invite-only competition will feature BMX’s biggest names including last year’s winner Kevin Peraza and recent Van Doren Invitational winner Gary Young. BMX and Skate demos are set to take place August 21-24 and will feature Vans skate team riders Omar Hassan, Josh Borden, Alex Perelson and Christian Hosoi along with BMX riders including Simon Tabron, Coco Zurita and more.
On the music stage, Vans is proud to present the Plain White T’s. The Illinois born band is currently touring the country and is releasing a new album “American Nights” coming soon. A variety of bands will perform throughout the week and the complete listing can be found at www.surfecsc.com.
