The innovative St. Elias GTX is a lightweight boot that offers serious performance for backpackers’ excursions on the trail.

Coming in at 3lbs 1oz, the St. Elias GTX combines traditional all-leather comfort and support with a cutting edge, weight optimized sole and athletic inspired midsole. The all leather St. Elias GTX is comfortable right out of the box, due to the technologically advanced A.S.E. midsole with EVA cushioning pods. The new A.S.E. midsole is an EVA derivative that offers the lightweight features of EVA with the compression and abrasion resistance features of PU in an all new material. Strategically placed EVA cushioning pods conform to the irregular terrain of the trail while providing athletic level cushioning to the heel and forefoot while the full length lasting board offers the support needed when hiking off camber trails and carrying heavy loads.

Continuing with the latest technological features, the outsole is the Vasque proprietary Vibram Frontier sole that is contoured in the heel and toe to increase gait efficiency and decrease overall weight. The Vibram XS Trek rubber compound ensures positive traction while the lug design and surface conformability adapt to changing trail surfaces, achieving near approach shoe level grip.
