Award : MILLET Wins Three ISPO Awards for 2013

MILLET, the French based manufacturer of technical outdoor apparel and gear, is proud to announce that three new products for FW 13 have been awarded ISPO awards.  This prestigious honor further confirms MILLET’S position as leaders in product development for outdoor adventurers.

ISPO Award Gold Winner – MILLET Matrix 30 MBS
MILLET’S new ski touring pack, the Matrix 30 MBS, addresses mobility and weight distribution, reworking traditional concepts of what goes where, and how to carry.  Asymmetrical design throughout, the diagonal ski carry, with crampon pocket on one side and double ice axe holder on the other side counter balance each other to redistribute load.  The Matrix also features MILLET’S Mobility Back System (MBS), a pivot point above the hipbelt that was first introduced in SS13’s Axpel pack, and has tested to show great improvements in comfort.  Additional features include removable helmet holder, compartments for shovel and probe, gear holder on shoulder straps and hip belt, and compatible with all hydration systems.  Weight: 2 lbs 9 oz, MSRP: $179.95

ISPO Award Winner – MILLET Bimb Pro GTX Suit
MILLET has developed this advanced freeriding suit, modern in design with thoughtful engineering for committed big mountain riders.  Its relaxed fit includes removable inside suspenders and a “roll up” system, allowing users to wear as a one-piece suit, or just pants for warm conditions or comfort on uphill climbs.  This 3L GORE-TEX soft shell features a fixed hood with semi-rigid visor, oversized chest pockets with water repellent zips, 2 zipped hand pockets, zipped rear and arm pockets, and an interior security pocket, providing ample protected storage.  Underarm and thigh vents make this one-piece ideal protection for a variety of conditions.  Weight: 2 lbs 15 oz, MSRP: $999.95

ISPO Award Winner – MILLET Everest Summit GTX
The original extreme-cold mountaineering boot has been an essential piece of expedition equipment, aiding alpinists in 8,000m ascents since its inception over 30 years ago.  For 2013, the legendary mountaineering boot has been improved, making it lighter, more precisely fit, easier to get in and out of, and even warmer. Those who are serious about cold weather expeditions, know that protecting one’s feet is key to successful summits.  The new Everest Summit GTX features an additional 3mm of insulation without the addition of extra weight to the boot, coming in at an impressive 170grams lighter than its closest competitor.  Additional improvements have been made with the design of the removable thermal inner boot, now featuring an easier to use lace-up system, an added heel protector, and an Aerogel insole, which acts as a barrier to temperature change.  That, coupled with Prima-loft insulation and aluminum, allow the Everest Summit GTX to keep feet protected down to -75 degrees.  Weight (1/2 pair) 2 lbs 15 oz, MSRP: $999.95
