Skater Coming Soon to iOS App Store

SYDNEY, August 13, 2014 – Frosch Media, an award-winning game studio, today announced Skater, a best-in-class open world skateboarding game that is coming to the iOS App Store later this month. Frosh Media teamed up with etnies, Emerica, éS, Foundation, Lakai, Toy Machine, Zero, Baker, Deathwish, Shake Junt, Pig Wheels and Bro Style to allow Skater players to skate their newest products at some of the most renowned street spots like the Carlsbad Gap, Hollywood High (pictured below) and the best parks including The Berrics, Woodward and Stoner Plaza.

Designed by skaters for skaters, this game celebrates style and individuality knowing that different people see different things in a spot and skate it in their own unique way.
Blurring the line between single and multiplayer experiences, Skater enables social interaction, letting players share their own challenges and experiences.

Skater is like taking part in a huge skate session, with users around the world exploring and sharing different ways to skate the spot. This gives players access to unlimited content - a never-ending feed of new ideas, unlike any other previous skating game.

“As skaters and developers, we wanted to play a better skate game on the current generation of devices,” said Dain Hedgpeth, Director for Frosch Media.
“We surveyed tons of skaters, scoured forums from around the world and found the desire for a better skate game to be built that offered organic gameplay, social engagement, a way to expose and share the best things to do in levels and that were based on real world skate spots. So I flew to California to meet with some of the world’s top skaters and together we traveled to some of the most renowned skate spots and parks in the US.“

This is the first time these real skate parks and street locations have been created authentically in any skating game. Starting with architectural plans from the city, Google height maps and on-site photography every detail has been faithfully recreated down to the graffiti, street signs and even stickers on obstacles.
