MONTREAL--CCM Hockey, one of the top manufacturers of ice hockey apparel and equipment, announces its plans to re-launch Tacks Skates, the iconic brand worn by numerous NHL legends and superstars throughout their careers. Bridging heritage with advanced engineering, the new and improved Tacks, launching later this year, features the new cutting-edge ATTACKFRAME technology that will help provide explosive acceleration.
Regarded highly by many hockey greats, Tacks have been an integral part of hockey history since 1905 with many historic goals and assists notched while wearing the skates. They were originally designed by shoemaker George Tackaberry after Hall of Famer Joe Hall asked him to develop a better boot for his skate. After Tackaberry’s passing in 1937, CCM adapted his design and developed the Tacks line of skates, which has been debuted this season by rookie phenomenon Nathan MacKinnon and offensive star John Tavares.

Set to launch in summer 2014, Reebok-CCM Hockey will reintroduce these iconic skates to continue to sustain future legends. Tacks are part of CCM’s full suite of premier products.
