The key feature of Shnarped is the ability for fans to interact with some of their favourite hockey players in a positive way. Fans can send players a "pound," which is similar to a virtual fist-bump and players can easily send them back to fans. Shnarped is positive, youth-friendly environment that safe for fans of all ages to participate in.
There are currently over 100 NHL players using Shnarped and over 750 players from across North America. Shnarped recently added the CHL to the app meaning fans can interact with players from the QMJHL. Some of the notable players verified on the app include Brendan Gallagher of the Montreal Canadians, Jonathan Toews, Nathan Beaulieu, Mathieu Perreault, Gabriel Dumont, Louis LeBlanc, and more.
Shnarped has become an essential tool used by players to stay connected with each other when they move to different teams. It's also a valuable resource used by many of the top agents, scouts, coaches, and journalists in the sport. Fantasy hockey players use the app to check how their players are doing and stay one step ahead of their friends.
Other features of Shnarped include - customized news feeds, video highlights, player stat tracking, news alerts, injury updates, and more. Leagues included in Shnarped are the NHL, AHL, ECHL, CHL (QMJHL, OHL & WHL), and NCAA.
The name "Shnarped" is an unusual one and it comes from a card game played by pro-hockey players on buses and planes during road trips.
Interactive Athletes Corporation was founded in Vancouver in June of 2012 by Dustin Sproat, Kyle Hagel and Kamil Sikorski. Both Dustin and Kyle played NCAA hockey at Princeton University. Shnarped Hockey can be downloaded from www.shnarped.com.
