Business news : Filament announces plans for global launch

(Los Angeles) - Filament is proud to announce July 1, 2014 as its official launch date for the global market. Founded by industry veteran Tim Gavin and Bryon Schroeder, Filament sits at the crossroads of performance and lifestyle within skateboarding and skate culture and represents a uniquely positioned product for national footwear retailers.

As a founding partner of DVS Shoe Co. which he built throughout the 90s and 2000s, Gavin holds special experience and insight into the future of the action sports footwear landscape. “There’s complete opportunity for a new brand like Filament to conquer the market with a new approach," says Gavin. “Consumers are more savvy than ever and skate shoe brands can no longer use the same strategies they used in the past if they are going to survive. With Filament, we believe innovation and craftsmanship is of absolute importance and that will be clearly reflected in the product we produce.”

Bryon Schroeder, who brings senior level design experience working with brands including Diesel, Nike and DC, says the focus of Filament will be function forward. “ Iconic footwear is developed through the process of creative problem solving?functional and intuitive,” he says. “Our aim is to connect with the customer on a deeper level.”

Filament will be making its industry debut at the Agenda Show in Long Beach January 7-8, 2014 at Booth #N13 and Surf Expo at booth #3375
