Business news : Xenith Opens New Production Facility

Xenith, LLC, the Massachusetts-based football helmet manufacturer  announced the opening of their new, state-of-the-art assembly, reconditioning and product development facility located in Tewksbury, MA. The 60,000 square foot facility provides increased capacity and greater operating efficiencies, allowing the company to respond to the rapidly growing demand for its sports protective equipment and guarantee best delivery in the industry.

"We’ve seen a dramatic increase in productivity in the short time that the facility has been open. The increase in space and improved work environment have allowed us to introduce new processes that will increase throughput and lower costs,” said Carolyn Rainville, Xenith’s Vice President of Operations.

The new facility is up and running in anticipation of the peak Spring and Summer delivery period as professional leagues, universities, high shools and youth organizations begin gearing up for football season. Xenith is equipped to offer the highest level of customer service and can offer over 200 different custom colors.

The facility will also house Xenith’s expanding product development and testing lab. “The improved prototype lab and testing facility will not only improve our overall product quality, but also increase our speed to market with new and innovative products,” said Sander Reynolds, Xenith’s Vice President of Product Development. “What’s most exciting is that we’ve merely scratched the surface as to how Xenith’s adaptive shock absorber technology can be utilized to attenuate the energy of an impact. This new lab will allow us to further explore ways to optimize our technology and expand the unique technology into other product categories.”

In addition to its nationwide network of authorized reconditioners, Xenith offers the ability to clean, inspect and maintain its own helmets in its new reconditioning facility, offering the same quality control procedures as a brand new Xenith helmet. Unlike competitors’ helmets, Xenith helmet parts, both shell and inner components, stay together through the reconditioning process. The helmet’s maintenance history is tracked by a unique serial number system, offering customers the highest level of confidence. Xenith is a member of the National Athletic Equipment Reconditioners Association (NAERA).

Opening of this new facility marks the next important phase in Xenith’s continued development.
