Jun. 2, 2014 - BOZEMAN, Mont. -- GearBuyer.com, a Product Information and Product Review website that helps consumers search and discover products and make informed buying decisions, has published the results of their 2014 Camping Chair Reviews.
The Camping Chairs reviewed were from Kelty, Travel Chair, Coleman, Browning, and Wenzel. The Camping Chairs were evaluated for comfort, portability, features, construction quality, and durability.
The Kelty Deluxe Lounge Chair was awarded the Editor's Choice Award for its well thought out features and quality construction. "The standout feature is that the Kelty Deluxe Lounge Chair has three different angles of recline." said Craig Delger, who directed the review process for GearBuyer.com. "That makes it the most comfortable chair for sitting in for extended periods of time."
The Kelty Deluxe Lounge Chair was the largest of the camping chairs tested. The Kelty Deluxe Lounge Chair has the widest seat at 24 inches, and the tallest seat back at 24 inches. The increased size was unpopular with the smaller testers, but they all appreciated the chair's recline feature.
The Kelty Mesh Chair is the Most Popular selling camp chair tested. Smaller in size than the Kelty Deluxe Lounge Chair, smaller individuals may prefer this chair because it "fits" them better. The Kelty Mesh Chair has many of the same features that the Kelty Deluxe Lounge Chair has, but lacks the ability to adjust the recline angle.
The camp chairs from Kelty had the best storage sacks, with adjustable padded shoulder straps, external pockets, and daisy chain webbing.
The Travel Chair Easy Rider was another popular selling chair that was well liked by the review team. The review team liked the simple style, light weight, and comfort of the Travel Chair Easy Rider. The storage bag included with the chair was not as nice as the storage sacks that the Kelty Camp Chairs came with, but did have an adjustable shoulder strap and was better than many of the other chair's storage sacks.
"Low Rider" style of camp chairs were not reviewed. The standard seat height for a camp chair is 17" - 20". Low rider style camp chairs are lighter and less expensive, but they are more difficult to get in and out of, and many find them awkward to sit in when every one else is sitting in standard height chairs.
