Aqua-Bound® Introduces Three New Stand-Up Paddles

New Paddles Launched Due to Increasing Popularity of Aquatic Sport

OSCEOLA, WI--( Apr 14, 2014) - Three new Aqua-Bound Stand-Up Paddles were introduced by Branches, LLC today to meet the demand for this increasingly popular sport. The new stand-up paddles include "The Spark," for beginners, "The Freedom," for intermediate paddleboarders, and "The Challenge," for more seasoned paddlers.

According to Aqua-Bound President Ed Vater, the company conducted extensive market research, and learned that stand-up paddleboarders are looking for paddles at mid-range prices with key features. "They want paddles that are durable, lightweight and, in their words, 'Look really cool,'" he said.

Stand-up paddleboarding (Hoe he'e nalu in the Hawaiian language) has an undeniable Polynesian ancestry, and is an offshoot of the 1960s surfing culture of Hawaii. In 2004, a Vietnam veteran brought the sport of stand-up paddling to California. The sport then migrated up the west coast and along the southeastern US coast. "Now, paddleboarding is moving inland to lakes and rivers -- really wherever there's a body of water," Vater said. "And its popularity is growing every day."

Unlike other paddles at the same price, each new Aqua-Bound paddle is differentiated by a very stiff blade to grab more water and deliver more power with every stroke. "They're lighter weight than competitively-priced paddles, too, making the paddlers' time on the water less fatiguing with less muscle strain, and more fun," he said.

The new Aqua-Bound stand-up paddles all have colorful Polynesian graphics that really stand out on the water, and other distinctive features including:
