Hurley has taken home its unprecedented fifth consecutive SIMA Boardshort of the Year Award as announced at the SIMA Image Awards on February 7, 2013 at The Grove in Anaheim, Calif. More than 800 key influencers from the surf industry were on hand as Hurley accepted the award for the Phantom Fuse boardshort, which debuted in the marketplace in July 2012.

"I am very honored and grateful for this milestone," says Ryan Hurley, Creative Director for Hurley. "I am incredibly proud of our team – for their hard work, relentless passion and undying curiosity. It is humbling to be a part of such a talented group of humans."

The win celebrates Phantom Fuse, the lightest and most innovative boardshort in the industry. Featuring a laser-cut, two-layer “second-skin” waistband and Hurley’s patented Phantom fabrication, Phantom Fuse is the latest ground-breaking boardshort to come out of Hurley’s Phantom Innovation platform.

ABOUT HURLEY
“Hurley is a company based on inclusion,” says chairman and founder Bob Hurley.  This philosophy applied to Bob Hurley’s early years as a Huntington Beach shaper, working with friends alongside the world’s best athletes to make a better surfboard. It applied to the company’s launch in 1999, when Hurley decided to start a brand that was a true microphone for youth. In 2002, Hurley was acquired by Nike — the largest and most influential sporting brand in the world. Inclusion remains a guiding principle of the company today, where innovative products like Phantom Boardshorts and game-changing events like the US Open of Surfing continue to redefine what is possible in our world. Hurley headquarters are in Costa Mesa, CA with international offices in Sydney, Tokyo, Barcelona and Bali.
