New product : The 3rd generation Velocite Magnus carbon frame is here

Following the universal acclaim from riders and the press alike for the instant responsiveness and feeling of speed for both of the previous two Magnus generations, the 3rd generation adds more user convenience while dropping 5% of the weight.

Aug. 9, 2013 - NANZI DISTRICT, Taiwan -- Following the universal acclaim from riders and the press alike for the instant responsiveness and feeling of speed for both of the previous two Magnus generations, the 3rd generation builds on this heritage and adds more user convenience while dropping 5% of the weight.

The main new feature of the 3rd generation Magnus is the end user selectable internal Di2 or mechanical cable routing. This is accomplished through the use of different frame inserts, one set for Di2 and another for mechanical shift cables.

“This convertible cable routing feature simplifies the upgrade path for a typical Magnus customer. The customers no longer need to consider if their current drive train is electronic or not, or if they will move to electronic shifting in the future since the new Magnus supports both.” said Victor Major, the CEO of Velocite.

The second notable feature is a further refined carbon fiber layup that maintains the legendary torsional stiffness of the Magnus while dropping the weight by 5% across all sizes. The Velocite Magnus was recently tested by EFBe in Germany giving the scores of 113 º/Nm and 156.5 N/mm at the head tube and bottom bracket, respectively, for a size L frame.

Velocite have also invested into understanding the aerodynamic aspects of the Magnus bike and have recently performed aerodynamic tests in a full size wind tunnel. Besides helping to validate Velocite’s CFD (computational fluid dynamics) simulation software, it was noted that there is no detriment to the Magnus’ aerodynamic performance even when both water bottles are installed.

The 3rd generation Velocite Magnus frameset retails for US$1999 and is available for immediate delivery.
