Business news :Coleman to Outsource Most of Its U.S. Consumer Services

The Coleman Co. is outsourcing most of its U.S. consumer service operations, which are now conducted in-house at the company’s facilities in Wichita, KS, according to a report in the Wichita Business Journal.

The move means 68 percent of Coleman’s U.S. workforce will remain in Wichita. The company announced in 2011 it was moving 25 key executives to a new leadership center in Denver that will handle the company’s sales, marketing and creative services.

At that time, Coleman employed 800 workers in Wichita.

The Wichita Business Journal reported that Coleman will use a third party provider already used by parent company Jarden Corp, which owns the Abu Garcia, Aero, Berkley, Campingaz, Coleman, ExOfficio, Fenwick, Gulp!, K2, Marker, Marmot, Mitchell, Penn, Rawlings, Shakespeare, Stearns, Stren, Trilene, Völkl and Zoot brands through its Outdoor Solutions segment.
