In an effort to showcase its new line of premium golf discs, Vibram will sponsor two new competitions at the GoPro Mountain Games’ Vibram Disc Golf Experience. The Disc Golf Skills competition will feature three qualifying rounds focused on putting and accuracy on Saturday, June 6, narrowing the competition field to 36 players. Those golfers will then advance and play head-to-head in the 18 Hole Championship Tournament on Sunday. Winners will split a $5,000 cash purse. For event attendees interested in playing, whether aficionados of the sport or first time participants, Vibram will offer clinics, demos and disc golf challenges throughout the weekend.
“Vibram is a great, long-time partner for us and the disc golf competition is an addition we’re really excited about,” says Paul Abling, marketing director at the Vail Valley Foundation, which produces the annual GoPro Mountain Games.
Additionally, Vibram will highlight its partnership with Girls on the Run by offering custom fit pairs of FiveFingers for a $25.00 donation. Girls on the Run is a non-profit organization that encourages preteen girls to develop self-respect and a healthy lifestyle through running.
Lastly, Vibram will be the official footwear partner of the IFSC Bouldering World Cup presented by Chipotle as well as the lead sponsor of the demo climbing wall and dog park in the KIND Adventure Village.
