SEATTLE –MiiR, opened their flagship store at Stone34, the new world headquarters for Brooks Sports over the weekend. The retail space will showcase their products, local coffee, craft beer, and “Friends of MiiR” selection (to include The Giving Keys, Kammok, glassbaby, Patagonia Provisions and Krochet Kids). MiiR, while headquartered in Seattle, has been impacting the world for over five years. MiiR is committed to the simple idea of making amazing products that change the world.

Through their line of bicycles and hydration vessels they have provided over 200,000 years of clean and safe water to tens of thousands in need around the world and helped give more than 3,000 bicycles to underprivileged adults and kids in east Africa and domestically in Seattle, Boise and Minneapolis.

The flagship location will allow MiiR to invite guests to experience their usual offering of sustainable products with a purpose, as well as introduce two new channels for empowered giving: craft coffee and beer. The MiiR store will be serving up coffee from three local roasters- Kuma Coffee Roasters (Seattle), heart coffee roasters (Portland), and Verve Coffee Roasters (Santa Cruz). The MiiR team has also curated a selection of 28 local brews (including cider and ginger beer) available on tap for enjoyment on premise or growler fills.

Each coffee and beer sold will help provide one person in need with clean water for a day. Consistent with MiiR’s impact tracking to date, all in-store beverage purchases will be trackable via a unique code on the receipt that once registered, MiiR will follow up in 6-12 months with GPS coordinates and photos of the water project their purchase helped fund.

In Fall 2015, MiiR will be expanding the product offering to include a line of bags that will also be available in the store and will be giving back to education. “We see health through clean water, mobility through bicycles and education as three investments to help reduce poverty”, says MiiR’s founder, Bryan Papé.

While they will sell their signature bottles, growlers, tumblers, bikes and soon-to-be-unveiled backpacks, MiiR’s founder Bryan Papé wants the shop to offer more than just a transactional experience.

“We see this as much more than a retail store.  We want to create a welcoming, third-space that is uniquely designed to invite people into the MiiR story,” said Papé. “Moving from digital sales to a physical location was a big decision, but we knew Stone34 was the best match because we love working in Fremont and the idea of occupying a space built on values of sustainability and community.”

MiiR’s flagship is a brick and mortar example of the company’s commitment to sustainability. The store will occupy the ground floor at Stone34 (also home to Brooks Running) and the first project built to the standards of the City of Seattle’s Deep Green Pilot Program. Adjacent to Lake Union and the Burke-Gilman Trail, more than 2,000 people use the trail every day, making it one of the busiest commuter trails in the country.
