US, Peter Ashley to Retire from Fischer Sports’ Nordic Division after 2014/2015 Season

Auburn, NH (October 28, 2014) -- For over 20 years, Peter Ashley has been the leader of Fischer Sports’ Nordic division. This past summer, he notified the company that the winter of 2014/15 will be his last.  Peter and his wife Rhonda will be moving to Bozeman, Montana in the fall of 2015 to be closer to both of their families.

“It is with no small amount of sadness that we share this news as Peter will most certainly be missed,” commented Willy Booker CEO of Fischer USA. “It must be said, however, that we are equally happy for Peter that he has the opportunity to leave with Fischer in a leading position in the Nordic market and in a time that works well for him and his family. We’re looking forward to a season of celebrating his success at Fischer and thanking him for all that he has done for the brand.”

While “replacing” an individual with Peter’s experience and knowledge of our brand will not be possible, Fischer is in the fortunate position of having Mr. Ashley’s support in the candidate search and having some lead time to identify the best possible person to lead the Nordic Division.  The search for a new USA Nordic Sales Manager is underway with the goal of having a candidate in place by the winter sales meeting in early December. Peter has committed to working into the spring and early summer to make the transition as smooth as possible.

“In the short few months that I have had the opportunity to work with Peter Ashley I have quickly come to appreciate his experience, passion, competitiveness and leadership,” continued Booker. “I think I can speak on behalf of the entire Fischer Team when I say that we are simply appreciative of all that he has given to the brand over his many years of dedicated work.”
