Press and webnews : POWDER Announces Redesign of Powder.com

San Clemente, CA (August , 2012) -- POWDER, The Skier's Magazine, is proud to announce the launch of a redesigned website, Powder.com.
The sophisticated site, which is live in conjunction with the release of the first issue of POWDER's 41st volume (magazine officially hits newsstands August 14, 2012), is a hub for rich online content. Everything from the fonts to the photo galleries has been redesigned to make Powder.com the definitive news source for skiing.
"The goal of the redesign was to give us a stronger platform to tell stories through words, photos and videos in real time," says Heather Hansman, POWDER's online editor. "We've created a series of new custom content starting with a news-centric blog called First Chair."
To enhance the site, POWDER will be rolling out a slew of new online initiatives, including photo essays, an updated video player, more print-online integration, and "Watch This Issue" videos. The site will have the same strong storytelling and beautiful photos as the magazine, but with an improved venue to showcase content.
"In the ever changing landscape of digital, it's essential for POWDER to align all of our mediums to ensure that we deliver the most premium products across all platforms," says Publisher Ashley Otte. "The new site delivers the latest in technology, resulting in a much-improved user experience that solidifies Powder.com as the place for ski news, videos, photos, and product reviews."
You can check out the redesigned Powder.com at Powder.com.
