The New Collection of Iconic Roxy Skis Presented By Faction at SIA

Verbier, Switzerland (January 27, 2015) -- Faction Skis’ new design and distribution division, Full Stack Supply Co, will re-launch Roxy Skis in Denver at SIA from Jan 29th to Feb 1st.  The tight but comprehensive new Roxy range delivers both performance and visual impact for freestyle as seen on the X-Games podium with Dara Howell, backcountry Alpine freeride as ridden by Lena Stoffel, for women simply enjoying the pistes and of course those junior girls learning to shred.

Faction’s award-winning product development expertise and Roxy’s strength in women’s sports has generated a strong positive response from retailers. The Full Stack sales force has also seen major expansion adding experienced sales leadership in nineteen key markets in North America and Europe.

“We’ve been investing in the core capabilities to create and distribute quality products for years, and it’s been great to see the fruits of those efforts in Faction’s ski and apparel market visibility and sales growth,” co-founder Alex Hoye explained. “Now teaming up with Quiksilver to deliver the new Roxy line offers a unique opportunity to put our artisan touch on an established and much-loved brand.  Under the leadership of the seasoned ski industry vet and former extreme champ Rex Wehrman in North America we’re feeling a real surge this season.”

The Shima is an all-mountain, powder ski with freeride characteristics, the ski of choice for intermediate female skiers looking to explore off piste and tackle technical terrain. Medium tip rocker, slight tail rocker, traditional camber under foot and a versatile 5-point sidecut make the Shima quick to maneuver yet stable at speed.

For the dedicated freestyle skier, the Ily offers a poplar and ash core, tip & tail rocker, 82mm waist and half-capped construction to create a durable, playful and versatile freestyle ski. Ride the Ily switch, over rails, in the pipe or dial in your jumps, the Ily is Olympian Dara Howell’s ski of choice.

For exploring on piste and off, the Dreamcatcher 75 and 85 are tools to adventure for beginner to intermediate riders.  A smooth flex pattern, balanced sidecut profile and tip rocker carve up the groomers and take on the challenges of bumps and powder with ease. The Dreamcatcher 75 & 85 also appeals to the rental market.

Both models have a Polyfly & bi-axial fiberglass cores and traditional camber for durable and versatile skis whether on the piste, adventuring in the park or floating through powder.

Roxy skis are offered as flat products or as packages with Roxy specific bindings, manufactured by Look.  The Roxy Xpress 11, recommended for Shima, Ily and Dreamcatcher models, is a performance, lightweight and tool-free binding that is a breeze to operate and carry.

The Roxy Xpress Team, recommended for the BonBon model is also a lightweight tool-free binding, offering DINS 2-7.

Roxy team rider, Canadian National team member and 2014 slopestyle Olympic gold medalist Dara Howell continues competing as a top ranked female athlete in worldwide competitions, with her sites set on the 2018 Olympics.

Lena Stoffel, freestyle and backcountry skier from Innsbruck Austria, filming with the Wanderlust project with further team riders to be announced in due course.

After developing a strong working relationship with Quiksilver Inc. collaborating with superstar freeskier Candide Thovex whose One of Those Days 2 video rocketed past 10 million views on YouTube in 8 days last week, Faction’s Full Stack Supply Co division has designed, manufactured and is selling into the trade now for autumn 2015 consumer sales.

In North America, Full Stack added experienced industry leaders including Nicolas Desroches for Eastern Canada, Redfish Outdoor Associates for the Pacific Northwest, Tom Lane in California and George Manley on the East Coast in addition to its long-term team covering Colorado, Utah and BC.  New sales representation in fifteen European territories has also been added.

Faction was formed in 2006 by a group of skiers and friends. By pushing the boundaries in design and with a focus on innovation and fun, Faction is consistently recognized with awards including Skiing Magazine’s ‘Ski of the Year’ and film festival nominations for their webisode series We Are The Faction Collective

Faction’s international team operates out of offices in Verbier, Switzerland, Breckenridge, Colorado and Shoreditch, England.  Roxy hardgoods will be designed and sold by Faction’s “The Full Stack Supply Co.” division.
