Trade Shows : Brisbane Boat Show Set to Celebrate 52 Years!

The mining boom credited with injecting valuable monies to Australia’s regional communities and flagging retail sector is also proving to be a catalyst for a renaissance for the boating industry with more interest in all things marine than ever before, leading up to the 52nd Brisbane Boat Show, 23-26 August 2012.

Marine Queensland CEO, Don Jones said the association’s market research had shown an upswing in the interest of boats.

Mr Jones said it was immediately noticeable in the flow on effect from last year’s inaugural Mackay Show when there was an increase in boat registrations in the region by 300%.

'This year we celebrate the 52nd anniversary of the 2012 Brisbane Boat Show at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre on 23 to 26 August and already we have had unprecedented enquiry through our web site from both exhibitors and public keen to lock the dates away,' Mr Jones said.

The Brisbane Boat Show is Queensland’s peak marine retail focused showroom event aimed at generating leads and sales from those who have made the decision to engage in a boating lifestyle.

The Brisbane Boat Show started at City Hall in 1961 with only 11 exhibitors.

This year the Brisbane Boat Show together with Sunstate Hobie are giving you the chance to win a kayak a day across the show’s four days! Details on how you could be paddling across the bay in your own Hobie Mirage Outfitter Double Fishing Kayaks are available on the Brisbane Boat Show website.

Visitors to the 2012 Brisbane Boat Show will be the first in the country to see the new release Com-Pac Eclipse and Sun Cat trailerable sailing boats on the Blue Reef Yachts stand.

'Known for their high quality sailboats and very simple and quick rigging, Com-Pac Yachts are a welcome addition to Australia’s trailer sailer market,' said Blue Reef Yacht’s Cameron Suter.

This year’s show has a distinct seafood flavour, as it welcomes the return of seafood expert Bart Beek on the Club Marine Cooking Stage.

Keep an eye on the boating and fishing stage as a host of presenters reveal the latest technologies, the most tried and tested techniques and of course top tips on where the fish are biting.

If your interest lies above or below the water, you’ll find it at this year’s Brisbane Boat Show.

Tickets are available to purchase both online and at the door. Full price adult tickets purchased before the 17 August are eligible for a 20% discount.
