It is not surprising that the iPad or other wireless devices, have attracted the eyes of most boaters, thanks to their ease of use, their graphical displays superb, their touch screens, and the huge range of nautical applications available. But getting the boat data have never been easy - until now !
Digital Yacht has introduced a revolutionary new device called NavLink NMEA2000 which makes data accessible from the WiFi network, enabling devices like the iPhone or iPad to be used to display data on-board navigation. Laptops and Notebooks can also be linked to NavLink. And for fixed installations you will find an optional USB interface, which is able to communicate with browsers on PC and MAC.
The NMEA2000 became the new standard connections for electronics onboard ship. Most marine electronics devices, are now compatible with the standard plug 'n' play that will allow devices to communicate without problems interfacing. Major projects include water this technology on their new units. What makes this system so popular? It is easy to install, using an assembly-type Pivot (BackBone) or all devices are connected using cable lugs simply to create an integrated system. Guaranteeing installation without problems and very reliable.
The NavLink created a "hotspot" WiFi give the local sending over the network using either UDP or TCP / IP which is of course compatible with computers and Apps for iPad / iPhone as iNavX, and NMEA iOnBoard Remote. You will not even need to be connected to the internet to make the system work. NavLink connect to the hotspot and that's it. Navigation data from the network as NMEA2000 AIS, GPS and navigation instruments will be available on your mobile device. NavLink created a network on board that will suit all vessels under 20m in length. It is also possible to increase the wear for larger vessels.
Digital Yacht has its own version NMEA2000 certified, we called N2NET, very soon, customers will see more and more products with this interface.
