Sierra Designs continues to turn up the performance of down with new DriDown™ pieces set to debut this fall. The new styles offer better performance, aesthetics that transition seamlessly from trail to every-day, and reaffirm Sierra Designs’ continual mission of redefining the backcountry experience.

The new additions, which include the Elite DriDown Hoody, the Elite DriDown Parka, the DriDown Jacket and DriDown Vest, prove that comfortable performance and street-appropriate styling can co-exist harmoniously.

“Because you no longer have to fear wetter conditions, DriDown fundamentally changes the user experience for performance insulated apparel,” notes Michael Glavin, VP and Brand Manager for Sierra Designs.

“Even though these are the highest performing down garments on the market, we don’t believe you should have to wear a clown-suit styled ‘belay parka’ with a garish logo to look good.  Our styling is smart and confident, just like our target customer.”

Part of Sierra Designs’ 50th Anniversary Elite Collection, the new Elite DriDown Hoody is the warmest lightweight down jacket on the market. Extremely versatile, the jacket weighs a mere 10oz (7oz women’s), offers 105g (90g women’s) of 850 Fill Power Duck DriDown, an over-stuffed hood for protection and a longer length for complete coverage. A thin PU coating in the exterior shell prevents down leaks and provides water and wind protection while increasing warmth. MSRP $249

The Elite DriDown Parka guarantees to keep you drier and warmer and weighing in at just 19oz (17oz for the ladies), this jacket definitely lightens the load for any backcountry excursion. Sierra Designs’ warmest down jacket to date is designed like the popular Mobile Mummy sleeping bag with baffled panels, a generous 180g (145g women’s) of 850 Fill Power Duck DriDown, and a single front zipper adjustment to secure you in a warm cocoon. The PU-coated shell increases warmth and water protection while completely blocking wind and heat-loss. MSRP $349

The DriDown Jacket provides a unique quilted pattern and heathered fabric that gives it a look that sets it apart from the crowd. Don’t let the good looks fool you, this jacket provides a tear-resistant, water-resistant breathable PU-coated shell that is also extremely breathable and air permeable making it versatile for a variety of temperatures and activities. The jacket includes a 650 Fill Power Duck DriDown, a protective collar design, and weighs 11.5oz. MSRP $199

The new DriDown Vest offers the same performance features and unique styling, but it’s the perfect option for a mid-layer application or when less bulk on the arms is desired. Weight 9oz, MSRP $169

The DriDown additions will debut at Sierra Designs’ booth 28017 at the upcoming Winter Outdoor Retailer Trade Show in Salt Lake City. For more information or to see the full collection of apparel, sleeping bags, and tents please contact Mandy Giles at mandy@darbycommunications.com.
