New product : A Family's Dutch Bicycling Legacy, a Father's Dedication to His Son, and a Passion for Design Result in the Launch of the New Kinderfeets(TM) Push Bike

SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 1, 2012 -- Oscar Mulder, award-winning and published designer, Netherlands native, and founder of the successful identity and package design firm, Mulder Design, today launched KinderfeetsTM. Named after the Dutch word "kinderfiets" which means "child's bike", Kinderfeets is a new push bike – a small training bicycle without pedals that allows children's feet to touch the ground. Dedicated to encouraging children and their families to live an active, creative, and adventurous lifestyle, the award-winning push bike is eco-friendly and features a newly patented design.

Mulder's passion for bicycling stems from his Dutch heritage and his lineage; his Great-grandfather was a bike designer, inventor, and bike shop owner in Amsterdam during the early 1900's. Continuing his family's bicycling legacy, Mulder started his son on a push bike at the age of two. Disappointed by the push bikes they tried, the second-generation bike builder took it upon himself to design one that met his son's needs. "My son learned quickly and safely on the bike I designed, and he enjoyed doing it," states Mulder, creator of Kinderfeets. "I wanted to share the same positive learning experience we had with other families and that is how Kinderfeets was born."
Kinderfeets' are handmade, and the newly patented, award-winning design consists of many unique features:
  • A Dutch inspired, low, step through frame which places children's feet closer to the ground so they feel safe
  • An ergonomically designed seat and handlebar position to encourage good posture and maximize comfort
  • Foot-pegs which help children position their feet properly for cruising and to prepare for pedals
  • An adjustable, cushioned, washable seat
  • A variety of color choices in a chalkboard finish – nurturing children's creativity by allowing them to decorate their Kinderfeets and truly make it their own
  • EVA airless tires
And, as a recent recipient of The Toy Man® eco-Recognition SealTM, the new Kinderfeets' are as eco-friendly as they are design savvy. In addition to being certified by the Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC) (the push bikes are made from the wood of fast growing birch trees and every tree used to create a Kinderfeets is replanted), the EVA airless tires are biodegradable, and Kinderfeets also uses minimal packaging made from recycled paper to further decrease the company's carbon footprint.
Recently recognized with The Toy Man's "Q2 Top Ten Award", Kinderfeets is designed for ages two and older (maximum weight load is 65 lbs.), and is available in six different chalkboard color finishes (yellow, green, pink, black, red, and blue) that retail for $110 – a natural finish is available for $100. And, for every 50 Kinderfeets' sold, one will be donated to the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation. Visit Kinderfeets.com to order, to learn more, or to become a Kinderfeets distributor or dealer.
