Award : BRP HONORED WITH RACINE MANUFACTURING BUSINESS OF THE YEAR AWARD

Wisconsin, Sturtevant, October 2, 2012 – Racine Area Manufacturers and Commerce (RAMAC) today named BRP its Manufacturing Business of the Year for 2012. The award comes as BRP recently completed a $15 million renovation of its Evinrude campus in Sturtevant, Wis., which outfitted the facility with the latest technology and manufacturing equipment.

“BRP was selected to receive RAMAC’s Manufacturing Business of the Year Award based on the long-term investments and enhancements the company made to its Evinrude campus, and the decision to unite its workforce into one facility,” said Carol Barkow, director of community partnerships, RAMAC.

The $15 million renovation is just one of the ways that BRP has set the tone for an entire marine industry. In the past nine years since the introduction of BRP’s award winning Evinrude E-TEC outboard engine, BRP has continued a legacy of innovation shaped right here in Wisconsin.

"BRP is proud to be a member of this community, and we are honored to receive the RAMAC Manufacturing Business of the Year Award,” said Alain Villemure, vice president and general manager of the company's Outboard Engine Division. “The Evinrude brand has enjoyed a presence in southeastern Wisconsin for more than a century, and the recent investments in the Sturtevant campus show BRP's commitment to the business and community.”

Since 2001, BRP has invested more than $100 million into the Sturtevant facility, which is home to nearly 500 employees. One hundred percent of all Evinrude E-TEC outboard engine final production takes place at the Evinrude campus.
