US Blanks partners with Tom Parrish and Charlie Smith to introduce the 7’10”SP surfboard blank

US Blanks would like to announce the release of the 7’10” SP blank, made possible through a partnership with famed Hawaiian surfboard shapers Charlie Smith and Tom Parrish.

The 7’10” SP represents the latest collaboration effort of a 40 year working relationship between Smith & Parrish.

Smith emerged on the North Shore in the 1970s as one of Haleiwa’s finest surfers.  He established his reputation while riding surfboards shaped by Tom Parrish.  Parrish had recently established notoriety for working directly with Gerry Lopez and introducing the Jeff Hakman model under the Lightning Bolt surfboard label.

Unlike most of Parrish’s team riders, Smith spent an equal amount of time in the shaping bay, as in the water, learning the craft of surfboard building.  Four decades later, Smith & Parrish continue their legacy of board building on Maui under their own, respective labels, Charlie Smith Surfboards and Parrish Hawaiian Designs.

US Blanks is honored to partner in the design tradition cultivated by Smith & Parrish.  The 7’10” SP is the second of three blanks they have designed for our portfolio.  The 8’4” SP was introduced in May 2009, and the forthcoming 7’4” SP will be released in early summer.

The 7’10” SP is available in polyurethane in 6 density options or EPS foam in two densities.  Either foam is available with any desired stringer configuration.

Made entirely in the USA, US Blanks has warehouses in California and Florida and distribution partners worldwide.
