Dometic Marine named exlusive marketer for Spot Zero’s reverse osmosis systems

SEATTLE – Dometic Marine, a division of Dometic Group, a global provider of leisure products for the marine, truck, caravan, motor home and automotive markets, today announced that it has entered an exclusive worldwide marketing agreement with Spot Zero Reverse Osmosis Inc. of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., to market and sell its Spot Zero Fresh Water Reverse Osmosis systems and its Sea Xchange Sea Water Reverse Osmosis systems.

The Spot Zero fresh water system uses reverse osmosis to reject about 98% of the total dissolved solids in any potable dock water supply, including viruses, cysts, bacteria as well as radioactive contaminants, creating clear, purified water for a spot free rinse, drinking and ice-making. The Sea Xchange sea water system (watermaker) uses a conventional reverse osmosis process to convert sea water into potable water.

The Sea Xchange watermaker system will be on display at Booth #East 1021 at the Seattle Boat Show Jan. 24 – Feb. 2. Dometic will formally launch the product as the Dometic Sea Xchange watermaker at the Miami International Boat Show Feb. 13-17.

“One of the biggest challenges for boaters heading out for lengthy journeys is ensuring safe, fresh water both at the dock and off-shore for washing with spot free rinsing, drinking, and ice-making. Spot Zero’s reverse osmosis systems make it possible to convert impure fresh water or seawater into clean, purified water. By eliminating the need to carry excessive water supplies, boat owners save fuel and can venture out for longer trips,” said Ken Taranto, Dometic Marine Vice President for Aftermarket System Sales. “This brings immense benefit to pleasure boaters and sport fisherman, who will appreciate the convenience of having purified water at any port of call.”

The Sea Xchange Sea Water Reverse Osmosis System features a compact design, high quality components and a user-friendly interface. The system comes in four models, with capacities of 600 gallons per day, 1200 gallons/day, 1800 gallons/day and 2200 gallons/day. Each unit is 18.5” x 48” x 24”. Weight ranges from 145 pounds for the lowest-capacity unit to 175 pounds for the highest-capacity unit.

The Spot Zero Fresh Water Reverse Osmosis systems use water from the available dock hose or sea water reverse osmosis systems for spot-free cleaning of boat exteriors. It can also be used to fill a boat’s freshwater tanks for spot-free dishes and glassware. The fresh water systems, models SZ2000 and SZ3000, have capacities of 2000 gallons per day and 3000 gallons/day, respectively. Detailed specs can be found at http://www.spotzerowater.com/.

“Spot Zero’s reverse osmosis systems are outstanding products that will bring comfort, convenience and practicality to boaters who are travelling to destinations without reliable water supplies. We are thrilled to be adding the fresh and sea water systems to our growing family of products not only for leisure boaters, but also for the commercial boating marketplace,” said Frank Marciano, President, Dometic Americas.
