Sport events : Cancellation of X Games in France, Tignes and ESPN reached an agreement

After the ESPN decision in October to cancel the X Games outside of the United States. Tignes, which was to host the fifth edition of the Savoy ski freestyle event of March 19 to 21 , had , after a month of negotiations, decided to go to court for financial compensation , citing a loss on sales s ' amounting to 10 million euros.

This Thursday, January 9 , French Savoy ski resort announced it had finally reached a gentlemen agreement with ESPN.

The action was canceled .The amount of the transaction was not disclosed.

 Less than € 10 million requested by the Tignes

According to Sébastien Merignargues , director of the resort , " the threat of trial speeded things and convinced our American friends that the settlement agreement was a better solution. " Without revealing the amount of compensation paid by ESPN , however, he states that" it is far less than the 10 million loss. This is roughly what Tignes paid for the right to host the X Games . "
