13 December 2013,
Vancouver – Recon Instruments, the award winning technology company
behind the world’s first consumer Heads-up Displays (HUD) for sports, is
pleased to announce full Facebook social media integration with Snow2.
Harnessing the
power of Recon’s recently released Snow2 HUD technology, this innovative
integration enables users to share performance stats in real time –
including ‘best ever’ stats for speed, vertical descent, distance
covered and more -- directly and automatically to Facebook, while on the
slopes. Additionally, this new software release offers the first ever
two way communication between a HUD and social network, as once the user
enables social posting, they will be able to see likes, comments and
messages from their friends, direct-to-eye, in the users Snow2 HUD.
These new features will be available to consumers on December 18, after updating to Recon OS 3.2 at engage.reconinstruments.com
To enable these new
social features Recon have also bought significant updates to both iOS
and Android mobile apps, which will also be released on December 18.
Through the combination of Recon OS 3.2 and the updated mobile apps,
this entirely new suite of social media engagement is accessible for
Snow2 users. This being the first of many social integrations.
“Facebook is the
largest and most pervasive social media platform available and our first
choice for integration into our heads-up displays,” said Shane Luke,
Chief Product Officer for Recon Instruments. “The new version of our OS
combined with apps for iOS and Android, represents a significant
advancement in user experience for our customers.”
