Having won a Red Dot Design Award alongside placement on the cover of Wired Magazine, the popular cycling water bottle introduces a 2.0 version of the SQUARE on Kickstarter that acts both as a fruit infuser and water filter

(Somerville, MA – November 11, 2014) – - Clean Bottle, the company that revolutionized the water bottle with a screw off bottom for easy cleaning and introduced the iconic Square bottle, announces the launch of their next generation Square.

Designed by a team of former Apple product engineers and Frog designers, the original SQUARE netted over $126,000 in donations on the crowd funding website, Kickstarter, reaching 530% of its goal in two weeks.  The sleek stainless water bottle went on to land in retailers such as Brookstone.com and Nordstrom.com and was featured on the cover of Wired Magazine. After incorporating customer feedback, the Clean Bottle team has reinvented the water bottle yet again, designing the new Square with 25% more capacity at a 70% lower price point.

The biggest innovation with the new Square is the Modular System that allows for the bottle to utilize components that offer functionality and flexibility that is not possible with other bottles.  The first two of these modules are the Fast Flow Water Filter and the Infusing Chamber.

The Fast Flow Water Filter removes chlorine and contaminants, and allows the water bottle to be filled in less than 30 seconds, while the Infusing Chamber allows for fruit slices to be easily inserted into the bottle for naturally flavored water. For the days when time doesn’t allow us to cut fruit up, Clean Bottle introduces Bloom Infusion Pods, made of freeze dried fruit and zero- calorie stevia leaf.

Just as its predecessor, Clean Bottle’s patented Double Lid System with Quick Click quarter turn locking technology makes the new Square incredibly easy to clean and guaranteed not to leak, while the wide ergonomic handle makes it comfortable to carry. Made with BPA-Free Triton plastic, the new bottle retains the iconic square shape that fits in a vehicle cup holder and allows you to take the Square virtually anywhere. It is offered in 5 bright color options and is guaranteed for life.

Clean Bottle Director of Sales and Marketing, Lee Peters, comments, “We have worked for over two years redesigning this bottle and we’re excited to partner with Elisette Carlson and her team at SMACK! Media to help launch the new Square.  They were excellent marketing and PR partners a few years ago and their success and track record made it a no brainer for us to team up with them again.”

Pre orders are available now until December 12th, 2014 through the Kickstarter crowd-funding website where custom printing is offered for pre-order batches of 50. Watch the Square in action and

About Clean Bottle

After constantly struggling to clean out the gunk and mold from the bottom of his water bottle, David Mayer, an Ironman triathlete and Stanford graduate from Silicon Valley, had the idea for Clean Bottle.  In 2010, Mayer designed a water bottle with a screw-off bottom for easy cleaning and debuted “Bottle Boy”, donning a giant water bottle costume to chase riders in the Tour de France. Throughout those two weeks of chasing the best cyclists in the world to compete for TV air-time and fan attention, Clean Bottle sold over $70,000 in bottles. Today, Clean Bottle can now be found in over 4,000 retail stores and major distributors throughout the US and Europe including REI, Performance Bicycle, Dicks, 24 Hour Fitness, Sports Chalet, GNC and local bike shops nationwide. Sales of the original cycling Clean Bottle went so well that the company was able to develop the award winning Square bottle, whose iconic design was a Kickstarter success.
