METS 2014 - Host of new records set at Amsterdam RAI

The Marine Equipment Trade Show (METS) confirmed its status as the world-leading B2B event of its kind this week in Amsterdam RAI. A record number of 21,086 visitors were welcomed by a record number of 1358 exhibitors.

Crucially, early results of the post-show surveys prove that visitors and exhibitors alike were pleased with the results of the three-day event. METS also attracted 6.5% more international visitors and 3% more decision-makers.

The METS 2014 exhibition floor was a hive of activity and the three dedicated pavilions (superyachts, marinas and construction materials) also enjoyed success as the global marine industry got down to business together.

The RAI’s brand-new Innovation LAB platform, unveiled for the first time at METS was very well received. Presentations on the Innovation Stage were well attended, the live reporting by IBI magazine went well and large crowds were seen admiring the DAME Award winners and nominations. The fact that 62% of the stand floor space has already been booked for METS 2015 speaks volumes.

'As impressive as these figures are, the real tribute to the success of METS 2014 was the bustling atmosphere throughout the RAI complex,' says Irene Dros, Maritime Domain Manager at Amsterdam RAI. 'From the excellent Breakfast Briefing on the opening morning of the show to the final deal struck on the exhibition floor, from the high degree of knowledge exchange at the complementary conferences to the networking fun at the various social gatherings, METS was a great place to be. Now the work starts to emulate this success again at METS 2015 and raise the bar even further!'
