US, Getaway Trips and Product Prizes Available for Anyone Who Helps Newcomers Sign Up for Beginner Ski or Snowboard Lessons This Winter

Bring a Friend Challenge Starts December 1, 2014

Washington, DC (November 18, 2014) -- Ski/Snowboard areas and numerous snow sports industry product suppliers are offering a variety of trips and product prizes for anyone who helps newcomers sign up for beginner lessons from professional instructors this winter. The Bring a Friend Challenge kicks off December 1, 2014 and runs through February 28, 2015. It is the third year for the program.

Those who help just one beginner sign up for lessons are considered “Ambassadors of Snow Sports”.

They must enter the Bring a Friend Challenge to qualify for prizes. Someone will be selected the Ambassador of the Year and will win a season pass (2015-16 winter), a jacket from The North Face, gloves from Seirus, undergarments from Polarmax, goggles from Zeal and a $250 gift voucher from skis.com/snowboards.com.

Topping the list this year are several “Getaway” packages at resorts that are close to larger metropolitan areas and are drivable. The packages (for two) include two nights lodging, lift tickets for two days and lessons.

Two locations in Pennsylvania are Sever Springs, near Pittsburgh, and Liberty Mountain Resort, near Baltimore, Maryland and Washington, DC.

Further north, Killington is offering a Getaway package. It is drivable from the New York metro area and Boston.

Another venue in the southeaster region of the country is Cataloochee, North Carolina. Cataloochee is less than an hour west of Asheville and also a drive market for Atlanta.

Boyne Mountain in Michigan draws from mid-size and larger communities in the lower portions of the state and is within driving distance from Detroit.

Head Wintersports, Ramp and Ride lead the roster of hard goods prizes. The companies are offering skis or snowboards to selected winners. Other product suppliers providing Bring a Friend Challenge prizes are Rossignol, Lange, RAMP, Dragon Alliance, Outdoor Tech, Screamer, Crazee Heads, Krimson Klover, Turtle Fur, Sky Trail/Bora, and KinderLift. Skis.com/snowboards.com is offering two $100 gift certificates for use on their respective web sites.
