SIA’s Snowlink.com Relaunch Features Updated Content and Streamlined Design, Giving Consumers a Go-To Site for Everything Snow Sports

Washington (November 12, 2014) SnowSports Industries America (SIA), the snow sports industry’s member-owned trade association, has updated its consumer website Snowlink.com with new navigation, a sleeker design and features to help snow sports participants in this $3.6 billion industry shop wisely, travel easily and slide well in the 2014/15 season.

With information aggregated from all sides of the snow sports community, Snowlink.com provides a place for the nearly 20-million snow sports participants in North America to view the latest styles, snow sports gear, vacation planning tools, tech tips and so much more.

Snowlink.com reaches consumers directly, providing information that will encourage them to buy snow sports products and get on the snow more often,” said David Ingemie, SIA president. “Retailers can also use Snowlink.com’s resources to educate and engage the customers coming through their door.”

In addition to the great tools Snowlink.com already offered ski, snowboard, cross country and snowshoe participants, the revamped site now offers updated content and brand-new resources including:

Intros to Ski and Snowboard:

Newbies will find all the basics covered in these newly updated sections, with links that delve deeper into gear fit, types of skiing and snowboarding, tuning tips and much more, written by experts including editors from Transworld Snowboarding and Elevation Outdoors. The Snowlink Minute videos offer quick overviews on tuning, rocker technology, reverse camber and more! Great tools for any-level participant.

Transworld Snowboarding’s Essential How-To’s:

In our brand new Snowboard How-To section, Transworld Snowboardinghas covered all the essentials. Riders will find videos that feature the pros explaining important snowboard skills, gear purchase and board care, like Finding The Right Snowboard Boot With Danny Kass, or How To Backside 720 With Jonas Carlson. With TransWorld Snowboarding and respected pros leading the way, consumers will start out on the right foot and keep coming back for more.

Women On The Snow

Women now make up 40% of all snow sports participants, and the ever-growing category of women-specific gear and apparel reflects that trend. In this section, women’s fit and technical differences are explained and the latest trends are featured, including the up-to-the-minute looks from SNOW Magazine in the Snow Fashion section. In addition, the Snow Getaways section gives tips for planning a girls’ weekend or a romantic getaway, Fitness For The Ladies shares all the best moves to get fit for the season, and the Girls Who Shred section will stoke riders’ inspiration with the newest women’s snowboard videos.

New in the Kids Zone Section of Snowlink.com, Just For Moms offers great advice for any mother
looking to get her family into skiing or snowboarding. Moms drive 85% of the family decision making and spending, and they tend to go to other moms for advice on vacation planning. Snowlink’s new Just For Moms section makes connecting easy. Just For Moms offers great advice from moms to moms, featuring posts from bloggers Brave Ski Mom and Mad Dog Mom. Consumers will find posts with helpful tips and information like Start Right: Eight learn to Ski and Snowboard Tips for Your Child (and You!).
