New York, NY November 12, 2014
InfoMotion Sports Technologies today announced that it has been named a 2015 CES Best of Innovations Awards Honoree for its Powered by InfoMotion® Software Suite initially launched in the 94Fifty Smart Sensor Basketball. Products entered in this prestigious program are judged by a preeminent panel of independent industrial designers, independent engineers and members of the trade media to honor outstanding design and engineering in cutting edge consumer electronics products across 28 product categories.
The award-winning Powered by InfoMotion Software Suite is designed to address the rapidly growing trend for smaller, smarter fitness products entering the market. Products utilizing the Powered by InfoMotion suite produce accurate information and create personal experiences during nearly any fitness or complex motion activity. The sophisticated software provides for limitless options in product development with seamless, power-efficient processing for wearable, hearable, attachable, and embedded products.
“We are honored that our innovations continue to be recognized by CES at the highest levels,” said Mike Crowley, CEO and Founder of InfoMotion Sports. “The CES Best of Innovations award reflects the depth and sophistication of our market-leading approach to efficiently and quickly processing highly complex motion data for nearly any fitness application. The Powered by InfoMotion Software Suite represents the future of a dynamically changing and increasingly competitive wearables market.”
InfoMotion introduced new capabilities of its Powered by InfoMotion software as a Glassware app released in 2014 connecting the Company’s award-winning 94Fifty Smart Sensor Basketball with Google Glass. The app demonstrated the company’s ability to measure highly complex motions in real time, while continuously communicating results directly to Glass through Bluetooth Low Energy with no decrease in product performance, speed or customer experience.
“We believe that as new but smaller fitness devices enter the market there will be a growing need to receive information quickly, continuously, and many times without the need for a phone. Our approach proves that highly complex motion data can become useful feedback in a hands-free environment. Our vision is to allow any device maker to bring amazing but affordable fitness experiences by the way they measure and process motion data,” added Crowley.
The prestigious CES Innovation Awards are sponsored by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)®, the producer of the International CES, the global gathering place for all who thrive on the business of consumer technology, and have been recognizing achievements in product design and engineering since 1976.
The 94Fifty Smart Basketball and other fitness innovations will be on display by InfoMotion Sports at the 2015 International CES, which runs Jan. 6-9, 2015, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Best of Innovation Honorees will also be displayed at CES Unveiled New York, which features dozens of exhibitors and networking opportunities, and runs 4:30-7:30 PM November 11 at the Metropolitan Pavilion, New York.
Entries are evaluated on their engineering, aesthetic and design qualities, intended use/function and user value, how the design and innovation of the product directly compares to other products in the marketplace and unique/novel features present.
Products chosen as CES Best of Innovation Honorees reflect innovative design and engineering in some of the most cutting edge tech products and services coming to market.
2015 CES Innovation Honoree products are featured on CESweb.org/Innovation, which lists product categories, as well as each product name, manufacturer information, description, photo and URL.
