The North Face, the world’s premier supplier of authentic, innovative and technically advanced outdoor apparel, equipment and footwear, today announced ultrarunner Dylan Bowman, 28, of Mill Valley, Calif. has joined its global athlete team. The North Face has a team of more than 70 professional global athletes, which includes runners, snowboarders, skiers, rock climbers and mountaineers.

“Dylan is an incredibly strong and focused athlete on the trails,“ said Aaron Carpenter, vice president of marketing for The North Face. “Because we all share the trails of Marin with him, we’ve been able to watch him evolve into a fierce competitor in our own backyard. We couldn’t be more excited to welcome this fellow Bay Area local to The North Face team.”

Growing up in Colorado, Bowman developed a love of the outdoors and mountain sports early in life.  Although he has always been an athlete, Bowman wasn’t introduced to long distance trail running until after a successful collegiate Lacrosse career. With no formal background or training as a runner,

Bowman took to ultrarunning in 2008 and has quickly become a top competitor on the North American racing circuit. Bowman boasts top finishes at world-renowned Western States 100 Mile Endurance Run and the Leadville 100, and first place finishes at top races, including Miwok 100K (2013), Sean O’Brien 50 Mile (2014) and the Endurance Challenge New York (2014).

Bowman will join veteran teammates Rob Krar, Timothy Olson, Mike Foote and Stephanie Howe at the Endurance Challenge Gore-Tex 50-Mile Championships Dec. 6.

“I’m thrilled to be joining The North Face family. Since the early days of ultrarunning, The North Face has been a committed bringing the sport to a bigger audience through the support of athletes and sponsorship of races around the world,” Bowman said. “The team is filled with some of the best athletes in the world, whom I respect and admire greatly. Joining their ranks is a true honor.”
