Business news : French sports market was up 3% over the last three months

According to the panel outlets NPD Group (about a thousand stores), France from February to April the sports market recorded an increase of 3% of its activity. With growth of 6%, is the radius equipment that leads upward, followed by footwear (3%) and textiles (1%).

In detail, the equipment sees boost from the mountain range. Sales of alpine skis climb indeed 18% and 12% of snowboards due to late and good snow. As the radius hiking, it is supported by sales of backpacks that leap of 25%. Conversely, due to the unpredictable weather, sales of sunglasses are declining.

As for shoes, the range is widely supported by sales runnings, 34%, and after-ski, 12%, while sales of lifestyle shoes fall.

Finally, the textile remains from sales of hoodies and sweaters, respectively up 18 and 12%, while sales of polar and hoodies without hood fell by 9 and 4%.

And while the tournament at Roland Garros in full swing, the textile tennis is up 8%, boosted in particular by polo representing 25% of sales. Equipment dedicated to tennis himself is down 3%, the shoe remaining stable at 1%.
