Reseda, CA (PRWEB) June 10, 2013
Syck Productions is producing the 2013 Southern California Summer Skateboarding Expo, August 9 - 11, 2013, at Pedlow Skatepark in Reseda, Calif. The skate park will go through a temporary expansion from 1 acre to 3.5 acres, including the San Fernando Valley's first and only vert ramp. A concert stage will host live music and entertainment. The event will benefit several charities, including The Sheckler Foundation, LAFD Foundation and other community organizations. This three day skateboarding and music fest will bring together the world's top skateboarders. An event with this all star line up is a first for the San Fernando Valley.

The expo will be hosted by Christian Hosoi, Ryan Sheckler, Paul (P-Rod) Rodriguez, Torey Pudwill, Guy Mariano, Tony Tave, Dave Duncan, Justin Schulte, Manny Santiago and Theotis Beasley to cite only a few.

"We are looking forward to signing autographs and skating with our fans," stated Hosoi. The skateboarding competition is open to children, amateurs and sponsored skaters. Pros and fans will cheer on their favorites as they compete for top prizes, including skating related scholarships. Syck Productions has over 20 seperate categories of skate competition scheduled, including 6 categories just for the women.

Other activities will include raffles, silent auctions, lessons from the legends, demos from the pros, a concert stage with live music, The Game Truck LA, a food court, nearly 100 vendors and exhibitors, promotional giveaways including skateboards, T-shirts, hats, and more. The little ones will enjoy thrill seeking adventures like rock wall climbing and bungee trampolines.

"This is unprecedented," stated the California State Senator. "To have all these greats supporting their fans, benefitting our children's foundations." Skateboarding hits close to home for the Senator. In 2011, he and his family suffered the loss of their nephew when a hit-and-run driver struck and killed the 14 year old, while skating in the streets. Sadly, his best friend lost his life as well. Today, the Senator’s daughter is a Senior Vice President for Syck Productions.

In the last ten years, nearly 400 children have lost their lives while skateboarding in the streets. Los Angeles based, Syck Productions' mission is to promote safety by hosting all-star skateboarding events to raise funds for the charities that are keeping the kids off the streets by building safe environments for skateboarding.
