Retail news : Norwegian retailer XXL continues to expand

The Norwegian sport giant XXL continues to focus on the Swedish market. Despite the tough competition between chains showed XXL at a profit last year of nearly 4 million.

In spring XXL opened a new store in Solåsen in Jönköping. It was the Norwegian chain's tenth store in Sweden. But the pace of enlargement does not stop there. XXL will open three more stores this autumn.

Despite the high rate of expansion and the massive marketing campaigns showed sports chain still on the operating results of plus SEK 3.8 million compared to the year before. Annual sales of XXL in Sweden was the whole 1 billion. Simultaneously with the new department stores based company also has a new central warehouse in Örebro on the entire 20,000 square feet. The idea is to store in Sweden also will work in the long run as the company's European warehouse. Norwegians have now set their sights on our eastern neighbor Finland. There, XXL already signed its first lease in Helsinki and the meaning is that the chain will open its first store there next year.
