Sport event US : Saddle Up! – Spectacular Keynote Systems “Giro Di Pacifica” Bike Ride Coming Saturday, June 29

SAN MATEO, Calif.--()--Keynote® (Nasdaq: KEYN), the global leader in Internet and mobile cloud testing & monitoring, today announced it has joined again with Parca, now celebrating its 61st year of helping people with developmental disabilities live independently, to present the second annual “Keynote Systems Giro di Pacifica,” AKA “The Ride At Devil’s Slide,” a one-of-a-kind challenging recreational bike ride with breathtaking views of the San Mateo County coastline and the famous Devil’s Slide, starting in the scenic seaside village of Pacifica, on Saturday, June 29, 2013.

Keynote’s decision to again be the main event sponsor of the Giro di Pacifica is in keeping with the company’s long-standing commitment to supporting community causes and maintaining a corporate culture which encourages employees to volunteer and make a difference in both their local and global communities.

Umang Gupta, chairman and CEO of Keynote remarked, “We have enjoyed a successful association with Parca for years. We are very proud to sponsor the second annual “Keynote Systems Giro Di Pacifica” biking event in order to help Parca continue their valuable work in our community.”
“We are thrilled and grateful for the generous support of Keynote Systems,” said Diana Conti, Parca CEO. “Keynote has been a dedicated and long-time supporter of people with developmental disabilities.”

We chose Pacifica for both its spectacular coastline, and its friendly and welcoming community,” said Conti. “We offer experienced cyclists challenging world-class routes, stunning views and a ride fully supported with aid stations. The Devil’s Slide ride has some steep climbs and descents, and technical winding roads to keep it interesting and challenging. Last year’s riders were exhilarated to have met the challenge of the long courses. This year all the courses, except the 16 mile route, will head south over Devil’s Slide. These routes are truly memorable.” In keeping with the Italian spirit of the “Giro,” all participants will feast on a special Italian meal provided by Mazzetti’s Bakery, a favorite coast side mainstay.

In recognition of Pacifica's standing as one of the Bay Area's top mountain biking destinations, this year the ride has added an off-road course, placing the Keynote Giro Di Pacifica among the handful of charity rides in the country to offer a recreational mountain bike ride option. And what a ride it is.
Exclusively for the Giro, Parca has been granted one-day only access to a private trail, normally off-limits to cyclists, with unforgettable views of Devil’s Slide and the spectacular coastline. Riders choosing the mountain bike ride have a choice of two recreational ride options, both of which access the private trail and are designed to be enjoyed at a casual pace:
  • A "short loop," designed to offer beginner to intermediate level mountain bikers a chance to get out for a fun, casual ride of 8.6 miles and 1,310 feet of climbing and descending in world-class scenery.
  • For stronger, advanced-level riders, a "long loop," provides multiple hours of challenges and enjoyment; with 2,650 feet of climbing and descending to the top of North Peak and back, this route is a great way to test your endurance.
The Keynote Systems Giro di Pacifica is a one-day cycling event for the benefit of Parca that takes place on Saturday, June 29, 2013.

Road cycling enthusiasts have a choice between four longer ride options: the Giro Century (100-Mile), a Metric Cento (66-mile), a Metric Cinquanta (33-mile), and a Metric Venticinque (16-mile). All but the 16 mile ride go over Devil’s Slide, and offer beautiful vistas on a tough course that will appeal to avid cyclists. The shorter courses have all the features of the longer ones for those who prefer a ride that takes less time, or for those who are working up to the long courses.

No matter which ride you choose, all offer panoramic views along the beautiful coastal routes, rolling hills, and tree-lined roads of San Mateo County; and you can count on full support, from start to finish.

Once you complete your ride, you are welcomed back by cheering crowds and finish line festivities which include great food, entertainment and a chance to test out some fun, unique products and services, courtesy of event sponsors.
