Asics America Corporation has signed a lease on a space in the heart of the midtown Manhattans fashion district, which will serve as its first showroom in New York City. The 3,500-square-foot space, located at 530 Seventh Avenue will showcase both ASICS and Onitsuka Tiger including footwear, apparel and accessories. Currently under construction and expected to open by the end of Summer 2012, the space will be used for retail account meetings, media appointments, events and as an East Coast-based design studio.
The ASICS and Onitsuka Tiger brands will each have dedicated space within the showroom keeping with each brands image and showcasing the complete depth and breadth of their assortments. For ASICS, the look and feel will be modern, clean lines with highly flexible and functional fixtures.
Onitsuka Tiger will instantly feel different, with a mix of timeless American fixtures, reclaimed wood, intermixed with authentic Japanese accents playing true to the brands heritage.
"We needed a space that combined all of the character and urban sophistication necessary to enhance both the ASICS and Onitsuka Tiger brands," and 530 Seventh Avenue fit the bill on all fronts, says Casey Nolter, Director of Retail at ASICS America. "The showroom will complement the successful New York City retail store which opened its doors to consumers in 2009."
Built in 1930, Savitt Partners 530 Seventh Avenue is a 490,000 square-foot, Art-Deco building and home to many of the hottest fashion companies in the contemporary, junior and missy category, as well as designer, bridge, menswear, urban, footwear and accessory industries.
